We land on February 10th and spend one night in Split before making our way south to historic Dubrovnik for two days of exploration in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, walking through the Old Town and getting a bird’s eye view from the city walls as we stroll over centuries of history under our feet. We’ll explore the Franciscan Monastery established in the 14th century and walk the same steps made famous in Game of Thrones (fans will understand why we say no shame among us when they see the stairs). We’ll join the locals in their celebration of Carnival, saying see ya’ to winter and greeting spring with a party!

Back in Split we’ll embrace all of its splendor, spending time in Diocletian’s Palace, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hidden alleys and historical sites are just part of what makes this city so stunning and magical.

And speaking of magical, winter is a wonderland in the Plitvice National Park. It offers breathtaking views and has been named by several of my most-traveled friends as the most beautiful spot in the world. There are a dozen lakes and waterfalls surrounded by wooden footbridges and pathways.
